The variable range matters more than the headline
Both headline numbers are turbo figures, and turbo is not where a blower spends its life. The useful comparison is the range each machine dials across, and it points in two directions at once.
- At the top: the LB7650 sustains up to 580 CFM against the LB6504's 470. That is 23% more sustained air, which is the figure that clears a wet drive.
- At the bottom: the LB6504 dials down to 225 CFM where the LB7650 stops at 260. Thirty-five CFM sounds trivial until it is your mulch bed or your gravel.
Neither machine can do the other's job at its own extreme. If your work is mostly beds, borders and a patio, the smaller blower is not a compromise — it is the correct tool, and the one that will not redistribute your bark chips.

The runtime figures are not comparable, and that is EGO's fault
Both machines take the same 56V 5.0Ah pack — 280 nameplate watt-hours. Identical energy, identical platform. What EGO publishes about spending it is completely different.
Who should buy the LB7650
Large yards, wet leaves, and anyone who will actually use the top of the range. 765 CFM and 200 MPH are the highest published handheld figures in our registry, 580 CFM sustained is 23% above the other machine's ceiling, and 4.6 lb bare is the lightest published handheld weight here.
Buy it knowing two things: fifteen minutes is what turbo actually gives you on a 5.0Ah pack, and most listings sell it bare, so budget for a battery and charger on top.

Who should buy the LB6504
Ordinary yards, beds and hard surfaces, and anyone buying their first EGO tool. A genuine variable dial from 225 to 470 CFM plus turbo is more control than a three-position switch, 64 dB is published, IPX4 is published, and the kit configuration means the 280Wh pack and charger arrive in the box — which then run the trimmer you buy next.
Buy it knowing the 650 CFM headline is turbo-only, that EGO publishes no weight for it, and that the 90 minute runtime figure is an average you cannot select.

Deciding in three questions
- Do you clear wet leaves off a large area? If yes, the LB7650's sustained 580 CFM is the reason to pay more. If no, stop here and buy the LB6504.
- Do you have mulch beds or gravel? The LB6504 dials to 225 CFM. The LB7650 does not go that low.
- Do you already own 56V packs? If not, the kit configuration is worth real money, and that favors the LB6504 — see bare tool vs kit.

What we cannot tell you
We have not run either blower. EGO publishes no weight for the LB6504 and no ingress rating for the LB7650, so neither machine can be fully ranked against the other. The LB6504's runtime is published as an average with no mode stated, so the 3.1Wh per minute above describes a mix we cannot see rather than a setting you can choose. And neither page states the debris type or surface behind any airflow claim.
