Four brands, four 21-inch flagship walk-behinds, one table. We transcribed every number each manufacturer publishes, converted the battery specs so they are comparable, and left the gaps as gaps.

Every cell is transcribed from the manufacturer's own product page, all checked 3 September 2026. 'Not published' means the manufacturer does not state it -- we do not fill those in from third-party sources or from memory.
Count the gaps
Thirteen rows, four brands, fifty-two cells. Seventeen of them say "not published". Two of the largest cordless outdoor brands in the United States do not publish the weight of their flagship mower, and three of the four do not publish a recharge time.
That is the actual condition of this category, and it is why every comparison you can find online is written in adjectives. There often is not a number to write about. When we say we compete on being verifiable rather than on having tested things, this table is what we mean.
What each brand is actually offering
EGO: the most energy, the longest tool warranty
420Wh in a single pack is the largest included battery of any single-pack kit here, and the 8-position 1-to-4-inch cut range is the widest published adjustment. The 5-year tool warranty is the longest in the group. Against that: no published weight, no published recharge time, and a battery warranty of 3 years — the shortest here, on the component that fails first. Full detail in EGO vs Ryobi.
Ryobi: the most total energy and the lowest draw
480Wh across two packs and 6.0Wh per minute, the most efficient 21-inch self-propelled figure in the table. The 40V platform is also the cheapest route to a full set of tools. Against that: Ryobi's product page publishes almost nothing beyond runtime and drive type — no cut height, no weight, no warranty terms.
Greenworks: the brand that shows its work
The only mower here with a published blade speed, weight, recharge time, acreage rating and matched 4-year warranties on tool and battery. It also has the smallest included pack and the highest per-minute draw, which is why it ranks where it does on our main roundup. Full comparison in EGO vs Greenworks.
Toro: the only honest watt-hour figure in the category
Toro publishes 324Wh for its 60V Max 6.0Ah pack. Divide and you get 54V — the nominal voltage, not the max-charge number on the sticker. Every other brand in this table leaves you to multiply marketing voltage by amp-hours, which overstates capacity by roughly 10%. Toro also publishes a 66 lb weight and a 14-gauge steel deck, and is the only brand here to admit a 150-minute recharge.
How to actually choose between them
- Work out your watt-hour requirement first. Minutes of mowing x 7.5Wh, plus 30%. That single number eliminates half the table.
- Then decide how many tools you will own. Two or three, and the mower decides. Five or six, and the platform decides — see the platform guide.
- Then look at the battery warranty, not the tool warranty. Motors rarely fail in a decade; packs are warranted for three to four years for a reason.
- Treat missing specs as information. A manufacturer that will not publish a weight or a charge time has made a choice about that too.

What they don't
- EGO publishes torque (7.0 ft-lbs), not motor wattage, so it cannot be compared directly against Greenworks' 1500W figure
- The 7.5Ah pack that earns the runtime claim is also the expensive one to replace
your yard is under a quarter acre. You would be paying for 420Wh of headroom you will never discharge, and a 20 in push mower cuts the same grass.

40V x 6.0Ah = 240Wh per pack; the kit ships two, so 480Wh total -- but only 240Wh is available at any moment, because the mower draws one pack at a time.
What the numbers favor
- 480Wh across two packs, the most total energy in any kit here
- Two packs means you swap and keep mowing instead of waiting on a charger
- Ryobi's 40V range is the broadest consumer battery line of the three platforms
What they don't
- Only one 240Wh pack is live at a time -- the 480Wh is sequential, not simultaneous
- Ryobi does not publish a cut-height range or weight on the product page, so both are unknown to us

- 4-year battery warranty -- a year longer than EGO's 3-year, on the component that fails first
- Publishes blade RPM, weight and acreage rating; the other two brands publish none of the three
- 40-minute recharge on the included charger, the fastest published here
- 4-in-1 deck adds turbo leaf pickup on top of mulch, bag and side discharge
What they don't
- 320Wh included, the least of the three flagships -- and the 33-minute runtime claim reflects that
- 75 lb is the only published weight here, and it is not light
you want one battery to finish a half-acre without a swap. Greenworks rates the mower for 1/2 acre but claims only 33 minutes on the included pack; those two numbers only reconcile if you buy a second battery.

Toro labels the pack 60V Max 6.0Ah and publishes 324Wh. 324 / 6.0 = 54V -- the nominal voltage, not the 60V max-charge figure on the sticker. Every brand's 'max volts' is roughly 11% above nominal, so a nameplate watt-hour number is always about 11% optimistic. This is the single most useful spec on this page.
What the numbers favor
- Publishes a real watt-hour figure (324Wh) instead of leaving you to multiply the marketing voltage
- 45 minutes from 324Wh, against Greenworks' 33 minutes from a nameplate 320Wh
- 14-gauge steel deck, the only steel deck spec published on this page
- SmartStow vertical storage -- a genuine constraint solver in a one-car garage
What they don't
- 150-minute recharge is the slowest here by a wide margin
- Toro's 60V line is narrower than EGO's or Ryobi's, so the platform grows less far
you are buying into a platform rather than a mower. Toro builds excellent mowers; the 60V Flex-Force tool range is not the one to bet a decade of yard tools on.
