Best pressure washer for concrete
Driveways are where cleaning units actually matter. Here is what each machine delivers, and the attachment that halves the time.

Concrete is the one surface in the yard that rewards everything a pressure washer can deliver. There is no risk of furring the grain, no coating to lift, and no soft fibers to raise — so the specification that matters is simply output, and one of these two machines has considerably more of it.
The short answer
Why flow matters as much as pressure
Generac describes PSI and GPM as figures that must be read together: pressure lifts the dirt, flow carries it away. On flatwork, where you are moving a film of grime across a large area rather than blasting a spot, the flow half does more work than people expect.
For a deck, that ratio is a hazard rather than a feature — see pressure washers for decks and fences. For a driveway it is simply fewer passes.
The two, on published figures
| Spec | Greenworks 60V cordless | Sun Joe SPX3000 |
|---|---|---|
| Max pressure | Up to 3000 PSI | 2030 PSI (max) |
| Max flow | 2.0 GPM | 1.2 GPM (certified rated) |
| Cleaning units | 6,000 (2,200 in Eco mode) | About 2,436 |
| Power | 60V battery | 13 A corded |
| Runtime | Up to 30 min | Unlimited on mains |
| Nozzles | Not published as a count | 5 quick-connect (0/15/25/40/soap) |

Transcribed from the Greenworks 60V and Sun Joe SPX3000 product pages. Cleaning-unit arithmetic follows the method described by Generac.
1. Greenworks 60V — the most output per pass
Six thousand cleaning units is the highest figure in our registry, and on a driveway that converts directly into fewer passes for the same result. Cordless also removes the extension cord from a job done on a wet, open surface.
The published Eco mode (2200 PSI / 1.0 GPM) is a bonus rather than the point here — it exists for the soft materials this page is not about.
The limit is runtime: up to 30 minutes. A two-car driveway is realistically a two-battery job, and Greenworks publishes no nozzle count or hose length for this model.

2. Sun Joe SPX3000 — lower output, no clock
About 2,436 cleaning units, five quick-connect nozzles including the 25 degree tip that is the right one for concrete, two 0.9 L detergent tanks, a 20 ft hose and a 35 ft cord.
Corded is the argument on a big slab. A driveway is a long job, and mains power does not stop at 30 minutes. Two detergent tanks also let you carry a concrete cleaner and a rinse without swapping bottles mid-job.
It will take roughly two and a half times as many passes as the Greenworks to shift the same film. On a small path that is irrelevant; on a 600 sq ft driveway it is the afternoon.

The attachment that changes the job
Washing a driveway without striping it
- Sweep first. Grit under pressure scours the surface and blocks the drain you are about to send it to.
- Use the 25 degree nozzle, never the zero degree. A narrow tip on old concrete pits it.
- Keep the wand at a constant height and angle, and overlap each pass by about a third. Height changes are what create the stripes.
- Work in one direction, with the slope, so the lifted dirt runs off the clean surface rather than back across it.
- Watch where the runoff goes. Detergent and oil film heading into a storm drain is the part of this job with consequences beyond your driveway.

The warning that still applies
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has warned that pressure washer streams can cause serious injury, including driving material under the skin. Concrete does not change that: the stream that lifts tire marks will open a hand. Eye protection, closed boots, and never a zero degree tip near a foot.
What we cannot tell you
We have not washed concrete with either machine. Neither publishes a coverage rate in square feet per hour, a surface-cleaner compatibility list, or a nozzle-by-nozzle force figure. Greenworks publishes no nozzle count, hose length or detergent capacity. And nobody publishes a safe standoff distance for old or spalling concrete, which is the one case where flatwork can be damaged.

What the numbers favor
- Highest published pressure of the two washers here, by nearly 1000 PSI
- No cord -- works anywhere on the property
- Eco mode is published with real numbers (2200 PSI / 1.0 GPM), not just a label
- Shares the Greenworks 60V pack with the rest of that platform
What they don't
- 30 minutes of published runtime against a corded washer's unlimited
- Greenworks publishes several 60V washers at different pressures; check the SKU matches the PSI you are paying for
you wash a driveway twice a year within reach of an outlet. You would be buying 60V packs to solve a problem an extension cord already solves.

What the numbers favor
- Runs indefinitely -- no pack to discharge, no runtime figure to reconcile
- Five nozzles included rather than sold separately
- Two removable detergent tanks
- Total Stop System shuts the pump off between trigger pulls
What they don't
- Corded: a 35 ft cord plus an extension is the real working radius
- Sun Joe lists this model at both 13 A and 14.5 A across variants -- confirm the amperage on the exact SKU before buying
- Not on any battery platform, so it shares nothing with the rest of your yard kit
your working area is beyond easy reach of an outdoor outlet. A cordless washer trades runtime for the ability to walk away from the house.
